De Waal Tasting Room
De Waal Wines is nestled in the picturesque Stellenbosch Kloof valley. Two centuries ago, this historic 1791 Cape Dutch Homestead was the “last outpost” on the road between Cape Town and Stellenbosch.
The De Waal family has been involved in winemaking in South Africa for nine generations. Their wines combine Old World finesse and New World abundant fruit.
The De Waal wine ranges includes magnificent red wines and fruit-driven white wines. The interesting offering here is perhaps a selection of three different Pinotages, made in different styles and at different price points. It starts at the entry-level, easy-drinking Pinotage, to the matured, more complex CT de Waal Pinotage, to the exquisite Top of the Hill Pinotage, made from the oldest Pinotage vineyard block in the world.
De Waal Tasting Fee:
Standard Tasting: A selection of 5 wines from the Life Style Range - R50
Premium Tasting: A selection of any 5 wines, including the premium wines and the Top of the Hill Pinotage - R100
Open Hours:
Monday to Friday: 9h00 - 16h30
Saturday 10h00 - 16h00
We are closed on the following days:
Sundays, Christmas Day, Day of Goodwill (26 December), New Year’s Day, Easter Weekend and Youth Day (16 June).
We are also closed on 24 & 31 December.
